Frederick S. Gould estate, 73 San Leandro Lane, Montecito. Construction of the garden was done by the Southern California Acclimatizing Association which was owned by Peter Riedel. Peter employed Japanese immigrants who lived in makeshift huts at his nursery. After sufficient training they assisted him in the construction and planting of the gardens, circa 1909-1911.
