Upon Hervey Buell's death in January 1889, his son Percy O. Buell became proprietor and postmaster of Buell's Store and Post Office. In 1900 a new store was built across the street, on the south side of East Valley Road. To the right of the Buell store is the local telephone office, circa 1901.
